DOMINAS DERLING awarded the best Master’s thesis of law graduates

Master’s degree graduates of Vilnius University Faculty of Law (VU TF) obtained Master’s diplomas this week at the annual ceremony held in St. John's Church. A commission had evaluated junior lawyers’ Master’s thesis and awarded the authors. DOMINAS DERLING awarded 1000 EUR prize to Mr. Justas Rupšys an author of the first place winner for the master’s thesis named „Issues Related to Legal Characterisation of Virtual Currencies“.
A commission composed of representatives from DOMINAS DERLING as well as professors from Law Faculty of Vilnius University awarded the first place and the monetary award to J.Rupsys for his contribution made by detailed analysis of legal characterisation of virtual currencies.
The second place was given to Simona Budreikaite for analysis named „Problematic Aspects of the Concept of Damage in Lithuanian Civil Law“ while the third place was received by Edvinas Dzulis for his master‘s thesis named: „The validity of the arbitration agreement for non-signatory parties“.The authors obtained honor certificates
According to G. Dominas a contribution by students is significant as commercial law is one of the most dynamic areas of law, which shall be updated with a constantly changing business environment, marketing strategies and forms as well as with emerging new objects of law.
Every year around 250 highly qualified lawyers graduate from Vilnius University Faculty of Law who continue pursuing their career path not only in Lithuania but also in law firms, various companies as well as state enterprises abroad.
A commission evaluated the best master’s thesis of commercial law of VU TF students and the authors received the awards this year which is already the 14th time.
